Names

      Up until recently, new additions to the home zoo were named the thing that they were; "Want cat", "Monkey sleeping", "Papa, hold bear, right now!".  It seems to have been a universal mandate among book publishers and toy manufacturers that our daughter learn the names and sounds of all creatures farm and jungle.  As a campaign it was successful.  She knows the difference between a gelada and a mandrill, which is undeniably important in certain situations.  But in the last few months, she's begun to assign more personal names to her animals.  There are still Cats and Bunnies, but now there are also these guys...

     Sometimes the names come from places we recognize (Bockianna is also sometimes Brianna).  But other times the words and sounds she chooses seem unique.  It's a little thing that reminds me how lucky I am to get to watch her grow up.
