One of the things I love about this city I live in is that Leif's entire family all live within a thirty minute drive from each other. This would not be such a positive thing if any single member of his family was less than awesome but, luckily, that is not the case. We all get along really well and so when it comes time for the family to get together I always look forward to it.
Last weekend we all met up at the Swan Island Dahlia Festival, which sadly and a little bit confusingly, is not on an island at all. Or maybe it is and I was just too distracted by the cacophony of vibrantly colored flowers to even take notice. I was in awe of the sheer number of and varieties of the flower they have growing there. The toddlers, on the other hand, were not impressed and so while wondered the rows with my mother-in-law, Leif stayed behind and watched them play on the hay bales. I've got a good husband.
