on strike

this here baby is on a nursing strike.

i try to give her my boob and she's all "what the what?! my mouth on that? ahhh hell no."

she'd much rather get a bottle and take the rest of the day off, even if it means wailing like a banshee until she gets it.

it's a battle of the wills.  mine vs. hers.

she usually wins.

hopefully it is just a phase that she'll grow out of like she's already grown out of her newborn clothes.

  2. Oh my gootness she is so CUTE! I love her HELL NO face! And yes, it is a phase. O went through something similar--he'd only eat on one side, which was irritating. But it passed. Just keep on keepin on, she'll get back in her groove :)

  3. Thank you ladies! We think she is pretty darn cute too.

Mary Beth- This whole nursing strike started out with Clio refusing one breast as well. It was apparently very offensive to her because she would scream and scream whenever she got near it. She is some sort of boobist, I think. Down with right breasts is her slogan. It seems to be getting better though. We took away her pacifier except for the most dire of situations and it seems to have forced her to rely more on my breasts for soothing.

  4. O was the same way--except he favored the right and still does! I remember a long car trip where I'd forgotten my pump and the child was on a right-boob-only kick. I was really, really lopsided by the end of the day ;)
